跨平台电子邮件客户端 Newton Mail 创始人 Rohit Nadhani 近期在 官方博客 发布文章，宣布这款产品将在 9 月 25 日正式关闭的消息。
Rohit Nadhani 表示，经过多次探索和努力，公司依然没有找到盈利和获得增长的办法，同时也对 Newton 用户表达谢意，Newton 将在 9 月 18 日之前为用户退款。
不过 Rohit Nadhani 还表示，Newton 虽然就要关闭了，但它背后的公司 CloudMagic 将继续运营，并专注于新的创新项目。
Newton 前身为 2013 年推出的 CloudMagic，拥有超过 400 万用户，这款邮件客户端的外观十分简洁，并且非常易于上手，不过它通过自有服务器转发用户绑定的Gmail、Outlook 等邮件的做法也让一些用户望而却步。
CloudMagic 早期曾尝试推出付费计划，但最终放弃，2016 年 9 月 15 日更名为“Newton”，并推出新的付费计划，用户每年需要花费 49.99 美元才能使用部分功能，原 CloudMagic 用户可以免费使用一年。目前为止 Newton 已经拥有超过 4 万名付费用户。
