PingWest品玩7月16日讯，7月16日，抖音官方正式宣布，抖音全球月活跃用户数超过5亿。这是抖音首次对外公布自己的全球月活跃用户数据。
目前抖音主力用户群体从早期的18到24岁，上升到了24到30岁用户，该年龄段用户占比目前已经超过40%。2017年8月，抖音宣布正式出海，抖音海外版在全球已经覆盖超过150个国家和地区。国际应用市场研究公司Sensor Tower数据显示，今年一季度，抖音海外版Tik Tok的App Store全球下载量达4580万次，超越Facebook、Instagram、YouTube等成为全球下载量最高的iOS应用。
目前入驻抖音的政府机构和媒体数量超过700家，其中包括人民网、央视新闻、国资委等权威机构。
