在比特币币值跌破 6000 美元的同时，它的竞争对手 Bitcoin Cash 币值突破了 1500 美元。但比特币币值的剧烈波动也被 Bitcoin Cash 继承，它随后下跌了约 40% 至 1150 美元，而比特币币值则回到 6000 美元以上。Bitcoin Cash 是比特币的一个硬分支，在今年 8 月正式诞生，它用 8Mb 大小的区块取代了旧的 1Mb 大小区块。围绕扩大区块容量比特币社区已经争论了很长时间，更大的区块能加快交易速度，而现有的 1Mb 大小区块已经日益成为交易的障碍。
