EA 发表新闻稿，宣布将收购游戏工作室 Respawn Entertainment。交易金额将达到 4.55 亿美元。Respawn 由 Infinity Ward 工作室和《使命召唤》系列的联合创始人创建，在 2010 年双方达成了长期的合作关系，EA 甚至最近将《星球大战》游戏授权给 Respawn 开发。根据 Kotaku 的报道，EA 的收购可能是迫不得已，因为韩国游戏发行商 Nexon 对 Respawn 发出了收购要约，报价超过 4 亿美元。如果 Nexon 收购 Respawn，双方未来的合作肯定将会发生变化。EA 行使了它的合同权利匹配了报价，并最终出价高于 Nexon。
