众多病毒激活单一 RNA 实现成功感染
基因是携带遗传信息的 DNA 序列，但基因组中的大多数 DNA 并不构成基因，它们被称为垃圾 DNA。但近期的研究认为，这些所谓的垃圾 DNA是具有某种用途的。ENCyclopedia Of DNA Elements 认为，很多非编码 DNA 会转录到 RNA，它们可能是有功能的。病毒就被发现能利用那些长链 RNA。根据发表在《科学》期刊上的一篇论文，上海第二军医大学、浙江大学和北京大学的研究人员发现很多病毒利用了一种长链非编码 RNA 分子，如果消除这种分子，病毒就无法复制了。目前还不清楚这些不同的病毒是如何激活同一种 RNA 的。
