中国的高血压危机
根据《柳叶刀》期刊发表的一篇论文，耶鲁大学的研究人员发现，中国正面临潜在巨大的健康危机：35–75 岁的成年人中间，接近一半有高血压，而其中不到三分之一的人接受了治疗，不到 1/12 的人控制了血压。论文合作者 Harlan Krumholz 博士表示，如此少的高血压患者控制了病情，这一数据令人震惊。耶鲁大学的研究人员与中国心血管疾病中心合作完成了这项最大规模的中国高血压研究，他们分析了中国 31 个省的 170 万5–75 岁成年人的数据。中风占到了中国每年死亡的五分之一，而不受控的高血压是主要的风险因素。此外，中国正快速老龄化。
