If I had a dollar for every time API documentation was wrong, and I had to raise an issue with the vendor, I would be a very wealthy man.

API is what you make for your program so that other, external, programs can access it's data or functions. The API documentation has to 1/2

One time I wrote data to specs. When asked what I was going to send they were shocked to learn it was what the specs told me to.
