IIT-Kharagpur introduces fines for student alcohol consumption and misconduct
- IIT-KGP will fine students Rs 5,000 for first-time alcohol consumption on or off campus, escalating to Rs 10,000 for a second offense.
- Engagement in scuffles or repeated offenses will result in a Rs 25,000 fine, with severe cases referred to the disciplinary committee for further action.
- The disciplinary committee may impose academic penalties and a minimum financial penalty of Rs 50,000 for continued misconduct.
