CPU、GPU 之后，英特尔将推出 VPU 核心，今年下半年发布
5 月 30 日消息，英特尔下半年推出的 Meteor Lake 系列处理器将搭载支持 AI 运算的 VPU 核心。
Meteor Lake 系列处理器属于消费级的 PC 处理器，VPU 将负责 AI 算力进程，除了提高 AI 的运行效率之外，还可以降低 CPU 的工作负载，并进一步减少 CPU 的功耗。
英特尔演示了同时在 Meteor Lake 的 GPU 和 VPU 上跑 Stable Diffusion，结果显示在 VPU 上能跑出更高分辨率图片。
像 ChatGPT 等大型语言模型，需要强大的计算能力，只能在数据中心运行。英特尔认为这会带来延迟和隐私问题，并且会产生高成本。
英特尔指出，很多 AI 工作在本地运行更好，比如实时视频和音频处理以及 Unreal Engine 的实时动作捕捉。
