Hello. Since the link https://download.exynos5420.com/LineageOS-14.1-Deathly/v1awifi/ is down, I started looking for the images. I would like to make them available to everyone. I found Originals from LineageOS.org as well as modded ones.

In my case, I have 3 of these devices and now use them as a wallpanel for my Home Assistant. perfect. The best versions for me are the original 14.1 from lineageos.org and the 17.1 before the update patches. The modded versions are flickered in my app with the moving animations. The 17.1 versions after the patch also flickered. well, my devices don't have internet access, so patches are not important.

First - Thanks so much to gettmann for posting the lineage OS roms. I have been looking around for those.
I'm trying to breathe new life into my old P900 tablet. Its been rooted for years and been running custom roms for ages (can't tell you which one, dont remember - android 4.4, i think?). But when I try to flash any of the above I get the samsung p900 splash screen, then nothing. forever.

Steps:
1. Flashed TWRP 3.6.0_9-0 from the above link via odin
2. Boot into recovery
3. Format/wipe everything. System, Data, etc. Everything gone.
4. Install lineage 14.1 official_last from SD card
5. Install pico gapps from SD card
6. Wipe dalvik/cache
7. Reboot
8. Samsung P900 splash screen... then nothing.

Have tried the same steps without gapps, same result. Any help on what I am missing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You need to update the bootloader first, that's a separate thing from flashing TWRP. You should be able to find instructions for it by searching this topic. I can see you've had custom ROMs on it already, but if they were based on 4.4, then they would work without updating the bootloader. To flash a ROM based on 5.0 or above, you'll need to update it.

As @Mr Creosote wrote all LOS14.1 (gettmann got from me ) and higher ROMs need latest stock bootloader.
To flash that download latest multiple part stock using Samfirm 0.4.1 in binary mode and flash it with Odin ( I recommend 3.0.9 for that old stock ROM).
After rebooting to stock flash TWRP with Odin and carry on.

Thank you so much bmwdroid and Mr Creosote. That worked perfectly. If others are reviving long retired devices and haven't updated, I wrote out the following procedure that I used to update from 4.4 / kitkat to Lineage 14+ - utilizing the brilliant information provided above.

0. Confirm on Android 4.4 or before (settings >> about). If on Android 5, then I believe you can skip steps 1 and possibly 2.
1. Install latest stock lollipop firmware:
1a. Download SamFirm (I used SamFirm_v0.5.0)
1b. Use SamFirm to download firmware for
Model: SM-P900
Region: XAR (my region)
select "Binary Nature"
Download selected firmware, In my case:
Version: P900UES1CPL1/P900XAR1CPL1/P900UES1CPL1/P900UES1CPL1
OS: Lollipop(Android 5.0.2)
Note: the first time I hit download, it failed. But the second time it worked like a charm
1c. Extract firmware zip so its just a .rar file
1d. Download Odin (I used 3.10.6 from gettman's file pack above, 3.0.9 may work better as noted above)
1e. Download/install samsung drivers (link)
1f. Boot into download mode (power off, then hold power+volume down)
1g. Use odin to install new firmware
Make sure tablet is recognized (should show a ID:COM port)
Place downloaded firmware in "AP" slot
2. (Re)-Root device:
2a. Download CF_Auto_Root for SM-P900 Lollipop
2b. Boot into download mode (power off, then hold power+volume down)
2c. Use odin to install root:
Make sure tablet is recognized (should show a ID:COM port)
Place CF-Auto_Root in "BL" slot
2d. Confirm root, using SuperSU
3. Install custom recovery:
3a. Download TWRP-3.6.0_9-0...tar for device
3b. Install via Odin - Place .tar file in BL slot
3b. Reboot into recovery (from app or power off then hold down power+volume up)
4. Install Lineage OS 14.1
4a. Factory reset/wipe
4b. Install zips for lineage OS 14.1 + Open gApps pico 7.1
4c. Wipe dalvik/cache and reboot system
4d. Wait and hope (my first boot took a long time - maybe 5 minutes)
5. Follow setup instructions. Yay!

I continued on, Installing Lineage OS 17 (same steps as #4 above with LOS 17 + gapps pico 10).

Not saying this is the "right" way to do it, but am saying this is the way I did it. And it worked for me, at least. Once again thank you thank you thank you to all the folks that contribute to the longevity of this tablet. Really appreciate it.
