Nothing teased Phone (2), expanding the phone market with a more premium offerings

Upstart smartphone vendor Nothing debuted a release of the phone (2) this summer, as the firm posted on Twitter on Wednesday.

The firm claimed Phone (2) would be a more premium option, compared to its precursor, with an unspecified high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Series processor. Its product page also marked the phone as a “premium” option.

The teaser video and picture demonstrated part of the incoming phone's design, highlighting a blinking red line-shaped light and a physical switch. It seemed to be a toggle to switch from alert and mute mode like the slider on iPhones. However, the firm declined to share more information on this matter in response to PingWest's inquiry.

As for availability, a representative of Nothing told PingWest that the phone would be available in the U.S. for the first time.

The firm has expanded its coverage to the Chinese mainland market with its new earbuds Nothing Ear (2) earlier this year. The new move is regarded as a further effort to expand its market coverage.

Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei co-founded the startup in 2020. The London-based startup works with units set globally, as some of its supply chain and product R&D is located in the Chinese southern city of Shenzhen.
