Apple has announced that customers who open an Apple Card account between December 1 and December 25 are eligible for an increased 5% Daily Cash on Apple products purchased with the card between those dates at Apple Stores and on Apple.com. The following purchases with the Apple Card are ineligible for 5% Daily Cash: purchases made with Apple Card Monthly Installments or the iPhone Upgrade Program, wireless carrier financing plans, Apple services, and monthly AppleCare+ payments. Full terms and conditions are listed at the bottom of the Apple Card website.

Apple Card typically offers 3% Daily Cash on purchases completed via Apple Pay at Apple, Nike, Panera Bread, Walgreens, T-Mobile, Exxon Mobil, and Ace Hardware. Other purchases made with Apple Card via Apple Pay are eligible for 2% Daily Cash, and purchases made with the physical Apple Card are eligible for 1% Daily Cash.

Apple's credit card launched in 2019 and is available for approved U.S. customers only.

Every credit card does this. It's how they get people to sign up. Amex Platinum gives you 100,000 points for signup. Many give you a pile of cash back after hitting a certain spend. This is common of most every credit card out there.

I don't understand the Apple Card. I purchased a refurb iPad using the card. Found a better deal at Amazon so I called Apple and received a cancellation authorization. As soon as the refurb arrived I sent it back to Apple. Now I have a $14.95 Apple Daily Cash charge I can't get rid of. Called ApplePay and did not receive an understandable answer. The whole thing should zero out, correct? Am I missing something?

Did you transfer the $14.95 out of your Daily Cash card into a checking or some other account? If so, it should zero out over time as you spend enough to build up $14.95 worth of Apple Cash again.

Give it time and use the chat feature if it doesn't go away in like two weeks. It takes a while but they will sort you out.

The $14.95 credit should have posted to your Apple Cash originally. The offset should be this $14.95 charge to your Apple Card. The offset does not post to Apple Cash.

You earned $14.95 daily cash with this purchase but returned it, so instead of taking back the cash, they charge your Apple Card. If you check your Daily Cash history you will see the $14.95.

Wish Apple offered higher cash back at more locations - the 2% cash back on apple pay is great but you can get 5% off Apple products on Amazon with the prime card any time.

I used my Apple Card near its limit over the summer and my credit score got dinged for it, even though I paid it off on time. I am giving all my credit cards a break. I just use my Apple Card to pay monthly bill to keep it active. Most of my purchases are now on debit. Thankfully my credit has been restored to excellent.

Apple Pay with the Apple Card is just the best. Forget using physical cards etc…I love using my Apple pay

When you return an item, the cash received as cash back stays on your Cash Account. On your Apple Card transactions you should see a credit for the item you returned and a change for the amount of the cash back you originally received for the item you purchased (and now you've returned).

So you think that every existing bank customer should also get a free toaster instead of just new ones? It has never been that way.

I got my Apple Card last year and 2 days later they started the 5% cash back promotion. I tried to see if I could get it also but they told me I couldn't because I was 2 days too soon.

I want Apple Card rolled out in the UK. That way I can be included. And then I can moan the next year about not being included in the promotional events. It's not fair.....I'm missing out on the missing out....

But you can't get the no-interest purchase with the Amazon card like you can with the Apple Card purchase from Apple. So there are different benefits depending on which way you want to go.

Amazon gives you that 5% because they know you'll spend way more by doing so. Look at Prime. The average Prime member spends $1400 a year with Amazon, compared to just $600 for non-members. Clearly it's to Amazon's benefit to get people to sign up for Prime.

The same is true with the Target Card. They give people 5% off purchases because they spend significantly more and it allows them to track all their purchases (which allows them to further target people with offers that cause them to spend more).

That does not make it right, nor does it inspire customer loyalty in what is a very competitive business.

This sounds good until you realize Amazon almost always has Apple products on sale and then does 5% back (Amazon credit, admittedly) with their credit card…would be nice if Apple tried to be a little more competitive with their card.

It's how EVERY credit card works. It's called a 'Signup Bonus'. It's an industry standard. 😂 It's no different than countless retailers that have special offers for first-time customers.

The Apple Card has never been a very good card. In fact, it's a pretty poor one in terms of what it offers. But Apple users are highly loyal to Apple. And they know that. Which is why people signed up in the first place, despite it offering less than great benefits even for a free card.

No it's not. 2% cash back is only offered when using Apple Pay. There are countless other cards that offer 2-3% cash back for ANY transaction and offer 5% on many categories.

Purchases with the Apple Card physical card are only 1% cash back, despite the industry standard being 1.5%.

Nerdwallet says it's not competitive. Forbes says it's a 2.5 out of 5 stars and isn't competitive. Cash back is lower than others and it offers no signup bonus, as most others do.

My point was Amazon’s Apple sales likely save you more than whatever cash back you get from the Apple Card (iPads often 10% off), so not only does more money stay in your pocket, Amazon sweetens the deal with another 5% back to spend on their site.

I get it, not perfect - can’t configure Macs on Amazon, and not buying directly from Apple. But to call the Apple Card highly competitive is genuinely funny.
