The team behind Poetry, possibly the most sophisticated packaging and dependency management tool for Python, has released version 1.2 after nearly two years of development. With this major update, Poetry 1.1 has become officially unmaintained.
Major changes and new features in v1.2 include a new standalone installer, dropping support for managing Python 2.7 projects and runtime support for Python 2.7, 3.5, and 3.6, providing a way to organise dependencies by groups, plugin support, and migration of the poetry export command.
Poetry 1.2 requires Python 3.7+ and runs equally well on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
