VV The Ruby Duo. Vintage Voyage. Retro. Perfection.

December 12, 2021

If there was only one lesson on how to combine two fonts to great effect, it would be this: The Ruby Duo from Vintage Voyage. The two fonts were, indeed, born to be together. The union was not arranged. It was destiny.

If you’re uncomfortable with freewill, the brutally large number of choices this dastardly duo presents will drive you beyond the brink of madness…light to black, condensed to extra expanded, features growing exponentially…racing madly into the choice tempest, the options abyss…until men in white coats come and take you away.

The Ruby Font Duo. No two things have been so fluidly combined since Kubrick blended the Blue Danube Waltz with Outer Space or since gin met tonic.

And you ought to think about that. For your beer brand, social media identity, poster, butcher shop, organic cereal, retro roadmap, country rock album, nostalgic novel. Please, people—the studio itself has presented the font here as a DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET TICKET!

That’s way more than enough—tying the The Ruby Duo to four of the coolest human beings that ever existed. Bullseye.

So strictly for trivia purposes, you might be interested to know that Fleetwood Mac wrote a song about The Ruby Duo, a duet of sorts where the Sans and the Script sing to each other about their inseparability. And although Nicks and Buckingham did not stay together, mere mortals as they are, the bond between The Ruby Duo is eternal. You most certainly will never break the chain.

In other words, there’s only so hard we’re going to sell it. But if we must, mock yourself up a few business cards with these inseparable beauties, and see if you don’t feel so much swagger engorging your veins that it becomes suspect…can people really tell by the way you use your walk that your that, and you have no time to talk? With VV The Ruby Duo, they really just might.

And we haven’t even broken out the vector vintage mood icons (more than 100) and the vintage badge shapes. Logos, branding, websites, print, magazines, art projects, educational materials,  painting your Sopwith Camel, packaging, corporate communications, and more.

A great set like this is what’s it’s all about. Just look at that script. Imagine if you could pick up a pen and just write like that.

You can. This is when works gets fun. The Ruby Duo from the always astounding Vintage Voyage.
