半数美国成年人完成了新冠疫苗的接种。美国疾控中心称，近 1.3 亿 18 岁以上成年人完成了两剂疫苗的接种，另外 7000 万剂疫苗在分配中。拜登政府的目标是到今年的 7 月 4 日美国成年人中完成一剂接种的比例至少达到 70%。美国已经有 9 个州其成年人群中完成一剂接种的比例达到七成。俄亥俄州在宣布挑选五名接种者奖励百万美元之后，年轻成年人的接种率在数天内提高到了 55%，有多个州宣布了类似的奖励方案。美国至今报告了 3300 万例新冠感染病例，有 59 万人死亡。
