《华尔街日报》报道，新浪第四大股东 Aristeia 向其发动代理权之争，呼吁该公司采取能够释放价值的举措，包括出售自身或出售其所持有的微博股权。Aristeia 希望新浪采取能缩小该公司与微博之间估值差距的举措：新浪持有约 46% 的微博股份，其市值约为 82 亿美元，但所持微博股份的市值却超过 105 亿美元 。Aristeia 认为新浪的公司治理存在问题，董事长兼 CEO 曹国伟握有永久席位，而另外四名董事会成员也都和公司关系密切，且每年只有其中一名董事面临改选。Aristeia 认为，新浪向包括曹国伟等关联方进行了不必要的股份发行，而发行所得的多余现金仍闲置在资产负债表上。
