Vertigo Games confirmed Arizona Sunshine 2 is on the way, taking us on the zombie shooter's "cinematic next chapter" this year for PSVR 2 and PSVR 2.
Announced during today's PlayStation Showcase, this surprise sequel to 2016's Arizona Sunshine brings a new zombie survival first-person shooter to PC VR and PSVR 2. Taking down Freds (zombies) while accompanied by your four-legged companion, Buddy, this promises an "all-new melee combat system" as you set out on a new journey. You can watch the cinematic reveal trailer below:
Telling a story of "unexpected friendship," Vertigo Games states Arizona Sunshine 2 features a diverse set of weaponry from shotguns to flamethrowers, while the trailer suggests physics reminiscent of The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. Here's an official description, courtesy of Vertigo:
Arizona Sunshine 2 is a direct sequel to the original thatsets you on an all-new limb-strewn adventure in search of answers. And what's better than braving the end of the f*cking world? Surviving it with your new best friend—Buddy. Not only is Buddy your four-legged companion through thick and thin, he’s also the goodest boy and will help take down those pesky Freds for you. In this (surprisingly light-hearted) story of a profoundly lonely man desperate to find another living person in post-apocalyptic Arizona, our hero and Buddy embark on a quest for a new sense of purpose, seeking the joy that the wasteland around them cannot provide.
An exact release date remains unknown, but Arizona Sunshine 2 arrives "later this year" on PC VR and PSVR 2.
