Samsung Galaxy S23 might get iPhone 14’s satellite connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones will reportedly support the satellite connectivity feature like the iPhone 14 lineup. Samsung might unveil its next-gen Galaxy S-series smartphones in February 2023.
The Galaxy S23 series might comprise the standard Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. The company is still mum on its plan to launch new flagship phones early next year.
In the meantime, key details about the S23 lineup continue to surface online. A new leak suggests the upcoming Samsung phones will copy an iPhone 14 feature.
The Galaxy S23 series might support the satellite connectivity feature. An ETNews report claims Samsung has been working on Iridium Communications for two years now.
Tipster RGcloudS recently revealed the S23 series will sport an eye-catching display. In fact, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will probably beat iPhone 14 Pro in terms of maximum brightness.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Satellite Connectivity Feature
With Iridium Communications, S23 users will be able to send texts and low-res photos via satellite communications. On the downside, voice and high-speed data communication require large antennas.
So, it is an arduous task to equip smartphones with these antennas. Still, Apple brought the satellite connectivity feature to the iPhone 14.

The feature is only available in the US and Canada. Now, some reports suggest Huawei will use Beidou’s satellites to bring a similar feature to its upcoming devices.
It is still unclear if this S23 lineup will get the satellite connectivity feature worldwide. Samsung might limit this feature to only a few countries like Apple.
Past leaks suggest the S23 series will pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. All three phones will get 120Hz refresh rate support. They will boot Android 13 with One UI 5.0 on top. All S23 series phones might house the same 32MP selfie camera as well.
However, the S23 Ultra will get a 200MP main camera. It will feature a 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto camera. Lastly, there’s a 10MP telephoto camera on the back as well.
