Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023): Another pointless release

Xiaomi’s Redmi division is known for launching many and many smartphones in the mid-range market. These devices often come with similar specifications. For example, the Redmi Note series usually brings a ton of variants, that come to keep the name in the headlines. More recently, Xiaomi began a controversial tendency of re-releasing old phones with yearly labels. The Redmi Note 8 2021 is a good example. The device was considered a pointless release. Now, another pointless release is about to happen – the Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023) is coming soon.

The Redmi Note 8 2021 was full of controversies. For example, it brought an Helio G-series chip that was not much different from the Snapdragon inside of the original phone. Now, the company will unveil this Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023) and the choice of the chipset is even more controversial – it brings a super-old Snapdragon 712.

Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023) comes with a 2019 chipset

The Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023) made an appearance on the Google Play Console. So it’s indeed coming soon. The device is a follow-up to the Redmi Note 11 Pro. It will pack a different SoC and a different camera layout. As per the Google Play Console, it packs the Snapdragon 712.

To those unaware, the chipset is from 2019 and is far from impressive and has a 10 nm manufacturing. Anyway, it may not be too distant from the Helio G96 with its 12nm process but will fall behind in performance. Anyway, none of these are really impressive for 2023. The camera layout is different and resembles the Redmi Note 10 Pro. But we’re not expecting impressive specifications. We expect the usual big main camera, an ultrawide snapper, and macro/depth sensors. In the worst scenario, it will not bring an ultrawide shooter.

The device will bring a Full HD+ resolution. You can also expect a big battery with a 5,000 mAh capacity, but the charging speed is unclear. The Note 11 Pro has 67 W charging, but we don’t know if the device will remain loyal to other specs.

There are many details missing, but we expect them to appear soon. Anyway, we’re confident that the Redmi Note 11 Pro (2020) will be a forgettable device. Meanwhile, rumors talk about the next big thing in the Redmi Note series – the Redmi Note 12 series.
