近日有报道指，英伟达正面临显卡市场过度饱和的状况，以及下一代GPU需求下降的问题，加上合作伙伴还有大量GeForce RTX 30系列显卡的等待出售，英伟达考虑削减基于Ada Lovelace架构的GeForce RTX 40系列GPU的订单。这似乎从另外一面印证了更早之前的传言，即英伟达将推迟发布GeForce RTX 40系列。
据知情人士的最新说法，英伟达似乎已确定了GeForce RTX 4090的核心频率，其基础频率为2235MHz，加速频率为2520MHz，最高频率可达到2750MHz。与现有的GeForce RTX 3090相比，基础频率提高了60%（与1395MHz相比），加速频率提高了49%（与1695MHz），新一代旗舰产品的核心频率提升明显。
按照最新的说法，英伟达可能选择在今年9月或10月份起，发布GeForce RTX 40系列，最初仅GeForce RTX 4090 / RTX 4080 /RTX 4070三款中高端产品。到了明年CES 2023前后，再发布GeForce RTX 4060这款面向主流玩家的产品。
