据新华社报道， 7月1日，作为我国“西电东送”工程的战略大动脉，国家电网白鹤滩至江苏±800千伏特高压直流输电工程竣工投产！
工程起于四川省凉山州布拖县，止于江苏苏州常熟市，线路横贯东西全长 2080公里 ，跨越万水千山，途经四川、重庆、湖北、安徽、江苏5个省市， 电流只需7毫秒即可通达。
工程可将四川富余的水电大规模输送至江苏南部区域，推动华东地区每年减少发电用煤1400万吨，减排二氧化碳2500余万吨。
这是一项迎峰度夏的关键工程，对缓解华东地区中长期电力供需矛盾具有长远重要意义。
