Android Fingerprint Authentication | Lock Application

We have to admit that typing a password for unlocking the android phone is sometimes an inconvenient task and to overcome this problem biometric authentication like Fingerprint scanners and Face Recognition is introduced. Using passwords for unlocking devices or apps may be an issue for security since anyone with the password can unlock the app or device. So for protecting sensitive information or premium content within your app is to request biometric authentication, such as using face recognition or fingerprint recognition.

Advantages of using Biometrics:

1) Since biometrics is associated with a single person it is specific (unlike a password that anyone can authorize). 2) It is very convenient. There is no need to carry or remember anything. 3) It is very secure. Biometrics is highly fraud-resistant.

What we are going to create in this video?

We will create a very simple two-screen application, one is the welcome screen that has a button for authentication, when the authentication button is pressed a prompt for the fingerprint will open up and when the user puts the finger over the scanner, the user is successfully redirected to another screen.
