在 OSnews 上看到「Windows 2000 modernization guide」這個介紹文，題到了 2021 年的現在要怎麼跑 Windows 2000 的方式，原文在「Windows 2000 Modernization Guide」這邊，除了 Windows 2000 以外，還說明了在 Windows 2000 上面要怎麼跑 Microsoft Office 2007。
裡面提到了 KernelEx 這個改裝套件，不過查了一下，這本來是試著在 Windows 98 上面跑 Windows 2000 或是 Windows XP 的程式，看起來不是講這個...
作者文章裡提到的是日本的 BlackWingCat 的改裝版本 (突然有種不怎麼意外的感覺)，可以在 Windows 2000 上面跑 Windows XP 的程式，但即使如此也只是 kernel 層，還是有很多 library 層的東西要 porting...
看起來是很好玩，但希望用不到 XDDD

最近討論 Uber 的 MySQL 換 PostgreSQL 後又換回 MySQL 的文章...

Paint.NET 3.0
小畫家很強，大家都可以在 YouTube 上看到許多神人的影片... 不過有時候有一些特效 (像是漸層) 小畫家沒辦法處理，大多數的人都會想到用 Photoshop，不過 Photoshop 實在太肥大了，所以我試著在網路上找一些替代的方案。 去年我在網路上看到 Microsoft 搞的 Paint.NET，一些常用的基本功能都有，看起來還不錯，就裝了 3.0 beta 版用，做一些很基本的影像處理，像是圓框、透明圖之類的，後來比較少用也沒有 Uninstall 掉，反而會偶爾打開跑 Online Update 看看有沒有新版 :p 剛剛打開 Paint.NET 時 Online Update 通知有新版本，發現是 3.0 正式版，更新完以後發現 UI 變蠻多的 (有陣子沒玩了)，另外就是增加了一些特效... 如果你對小畫家的功能不太滿意，但是又覺得用不到 Photoshop 這種怪物的話，可以下載下來玩看看，應該會有蠻多收穫的 :p PS：官方網站上說 3.0 版不支援 Windows 2000，所以還在使用 Windows 2000 的可能要碰碰運氣了，我猜只是不針對 Windows 2000 環境測試而已。

KataGo 最近的進展
KataGo 是目前 open source 裡最強的計算引擎了，不過先前的缺點就是得透過 OpenCL 或是 CUDA 才能跑，所以基本上得有張夠力的顯示卡才行。 如果要想要在 CPU 上跑 (不透過硬體顯示卡)，一種方式是透過 OpenCL 的方式模擬，在 Linux 下可以透過 pocl 達成，效能就普普通通，但算是會動的東西，不過 Windows 下好像不太好弄... 這也是先前蠻多人還是繼續使用 Leela Zero 的原因。 最近 KataGo 在 1.5 版實做了純 CPU 版本的程式碼，是透過 Eigen 這套 library 達成的，不過大家測過以後發現慢到爆炸 XDDD 因為作者沒有提供 CPU 版本的 binary，我自己在 Linux 下抓程式碼 compile 後測試發現只會用一個 CPU (沒有 multi threading)，對比於在 1080Ti…
