两大 PC 制造商戴尔和惠普都警告说，芯片短缺可能会影响它们满足今年笔记本电脑需求的能力。根据 IDC 的数据，惠普在全球个人电脑供应商中排名第二，它说至少到今年年底芯片短缺将限制其供应个人计算设备和打印机的能力。不过，作为个人计算机行业的领导者，两家公司表示，他们看好整个市场，预计远程工作和上课的人对笔记本电脑的需求将继续激增。根据 IDC 的初步数据，全球 PC 出货量在第一季度增长了 55.2%。
