New renders reveal the design of the sliding Oppo X phone

Recently, Oppo has been delighting with a variety of concepts. For example, a prototype of a sliding smartphone and a concept of a folding device, which, when folded, has the dimensions of a bank card, was recently shown. Oppo’s engineers and designers also have the idea to create a sliding smartphone that will be called Oppo X.

Information about the device was leaked by LetsGoDigital. According to them, the company really plans to present such a smartphone and it was created in collaboration with the fashion designer Tom Ford, who became widely known for his work with the Gucci fashion house.

When folded, it turned out to be a fairly compact mobile phone, inside which a display is hidden. Its feature is that the screen can stretch and turn the device into a full-fledged smartphone. It looks like the back cover of the device is made of brown leather and here a triple horizontal camera was installed.

Noteworthy is the absence of connectors and mechanical control keys, as well as the front camera. On the right side, there is only a compartment for the SIM-card, which can be accessed only when the display is pulled up.

Whether a smartphone in this design is good, convenient and generally realizable remains open to question. Chances are good that this is another concept that only demonstrates the original design of the smartphone. It is unlikely that such a device will soon reach the stage of mass production.

Oppo ColorOS has over 370 million monthly active users worldwide

Recently, Oppo officially stated that as of now, ColorOS has more than 370 million monthly active users worldwide. This system is Oppo’s deep integration skin on top of the Android system. Back in April, the company announced that the global monthly active users of the ColorOS are about 350 million. This means that Oppo gained about 20 million active monthly users in about seven months. 

Oppo ColorOS first public beta fit the public in April 2013. It was available in 72 languages ​​including English, Thai, and Indonesian. It is also active in more than 140 countries and regions around the world. As of 2017, the ColorOS Software Store had a cumulative distribution of over 100 billion.
