Today, we’re launching our new logo
We could make a big thing out of this, and fill this post with beautiful poetry about our carefully crafted new brand while explaining in tedious detail what the hidden meaning behind each curve is. But our new logo is probably not a big life event for you, so we won’t bother you with that.
Still, you might wonder why we are introducing a new logo. This blogpost explains why we’re changing the logo and how our new logo better represents AppSignal, now and in the future.
Our old logo
In all honesty, the old logo did not work very well anymore. The typography was hard to pair with other typefaces. Our logo contained thirteen colors and was therefore hard to print on shirts and other merchandise. We needed different versions for dark and light backgrounds. At one point we had so many variations of our logo in use, that we decided it was time for a change.
Our entire team was involved in the development of the new mark that’s strong and recognizable. We also introduce a new, slightly rounded typeface. We intend it to feel friendly, and we’ve paired it with a charming monospaced font. Because that’s the core of what we want it to be: friendly, by developers and for developers.
Drumroll please 🥁
Here it is. Our brand new, beautiful, shiny logo.
We know, it takes a second to get used to. But over time, our actions will reflect in this logo. We hope that whenever you come across it in the future, you’ll think of what we do and how we do it. And yes, this new logo also marks a new phase for AppSignal, as a promise for new things to come. We’re launching some exciting new developments in the coming year. Stick along on our journey, and we promise it’ll be worth it!
