Relaunching the React Native Radio podcast

React Native Radio is now brought to you by Infinite Red!

We at Infinite Red are pleased to announce that we have acquired the popular podcast React Native Radio!

As a React Native consultancy, we’ve been deeply invested in the React Native community for five years. We host the biggest React Native conference, publish the largest React Native newsletter, manage a thriving React Native Slack community, created the most popular React Native boilerplate, and … well, you get the point. We’re huge React Native fans!

One thing that was missing from our React Native focused media, however, was a podcast! So when the opportunity arose to acquire React Native Radio, we jumped on it.

New Hosts

The biggest change is that we have an all-new hosting panel! Meet the new hosts:

Adhithi Ravichandran

Adhithi is a Software Consultant, Author and Speaker based in Kansas City. Adhithi started building React Native apps for a healthcare startup back in 2015, and there was no looking back since then. She is passionate about technology and teaching. And has taught tens of thousands of students through her Pluralsight courses.
Adhithi is also an Indian classical musician, and plays the keyboard. While she is not busy being a mom or doing tech stuff, she enjoys playing her keyboard.

Harris Robin Kalash

Harris’ React Native experience goes back to version 0.16, when he was using it to experiment with a proof of concept. By 2018, most of his work has involved building React Native apps and promoting it in Montreal, his hometown via his former agency. Harris is also a freelancer at Infinite Red. Other hobbies he enjoys include basketball, hiking, traveling and geeking out over tech gadgets. He’s also a self learner so you’ll often find him picking up a new skill or programming language.

Robin Heinze

Robin has been building React Native apps at Infinite Red for almost four years. Before switching to mobile, she was a backend developer working with Rails. When she’s not writing software or busy chasing her toddler, she loves sewing, baking, classical music, and Animal Crossing.

Jamon Holmgren

Yes, it’s me! I’m a host on the podcast and also a React Native core team member. I’ve been involved in open source for over eight years and coding since I was twelve. I live in southwest Washington state with my wife and four children. Hobbies outside of coding include playing basketball and ice hockey, hiking, PC gaming with my son, and watching professional sports of almost every kind.

New Branding. Same Great Name.

Name aside, everything about React Native Radio’s brand is completely new!

To us, a brand is so much more than a logo. Our team of designers put together a visual identity that’s bold and unique, yet shares enough DNA with the Infinite Red brand to feel familiar.

Starting with the logo, we took the well-known atom symbol for React Native and paired it together with radio frequency waves to give it a fun new vibe.

We then used the bold contrast of a dark theme to make sure the visuals were unique in any context. If our average listener happened to come across a quote on social media, or the cover of a new episode in their favorite podcast app, our goal is for them to make a visual connection back to React Native Radio.

We’re excited about this bold, new direction for React Native Radio! See it in action at our new landing page: ReactNativeRadio.com.

Evolved Format

Our format will be an evolution of the old format, with a panel of hosts and having guests on regularly. We plan to have on a diverse set of people who don’t necessarily have huge platforms on Twitter or Medium but have interesting perspectives.

Interested in being a guest? Send an email to [email protected] and let’s talk.

Same Focus on React Native

Above all, we love talking shop.

We’ll be talking about news in the React Native world, geeking out about new open source libraries, debating various patterns, commiserating about difficult bugs, and much more!

Sponsorships

Other than Infinite Red itself, we’re starting with a clean slate for sponsorships. So if you’re interested in supporting the show and getting your product or service out there to thousands of React Native developers every week, get in touch at [email protected].

Go listen now!

We released two awesome new episodes! Episode 174 is “The State of React Native” (and we also talk about the relaunch) and Episode 175 is about “State Management in React Native”.

And you can follow us on Twitter at our new handle, @ReactNativeRdio. We’ll be tweeting more React Native content there!

See you on the podcast! 👋
