开源爱好者：Windows将被微软放弃、沦为Linux子系统

开源软件爱好者Eric S Raymond开始认真审视微软的做法，包括微软即将面向Linux发行Edge浏览器。
Raymond思考，个人电脑市场业务在下滑，微软真正的摇钱树是Azure业务，而且他爆料Azure运行在Linux上的机器比Windows还多。
Raymond大胆提出，从利润最大化这样的冷血角度看， 微软将最终放弃Windows的开发。当然，出于过渡考虑，Windows或许会降级为Linux的子系统。
Raymond还表扬了Proton这款模拟仿真软件，它可以在Linux上运行Steam为Windows发行的游戏，“虽然现在不够完美，但快了”。
换言之，Raymond认为Linux会最终赢得桌面的胜利，他甚至这样总结“微软不是终结了Windows，而是选择Linux接管它”。
