历经长达6个月的开发和两次推迟之后基于Linux的Fedora 25操作系统于今天正式发布，这也是首个默认搭载下一代Wayland显示服务器的发行版本，不过这仅限于搭载GNOME 3.22桌面环境的工作站版本。

前Fedora 项目负责人Paul W.Frields说道：“Wayland能够默认替代陈旧的X11显示服务器。目的是为了消费者在使用Fedora工作站版本时候提供更流畅更饱满的体验。如果消费者需要也可以选择更换为老的X11是服务，在选择登陆用户页面的时候用户能够使用设置按钮进行切换。不过新版显示服务器致力于推进新版系统和硬件方面的沟通。”
