Twitter 发布了 2017 年 1 月到 6 月的透明度报告，透露它关闭了近 30 万与恐怖主义相关的账号，其中 95% 是被它的自动工具识别的。Twitter 同时表示，来自政府的数据请求仍然在增加，它向当局提供了约 3900 个账号数据。美国递交了 2,111 次账号信息请求，其次是日本的 1,384 次，英国的 606 次，土耳其递交了 554 次。土耳其递交了最多的删除请求，总数达 2710 次，之后是俄罗斯的 1213 次，法国的 1038 次，香港也递交了两次删除请求，但 Twitter 没有满足它的要求。
