中国大陆也出现了首例iPhone8Plus爆裂事故。10月5日，家住广州的刘先生对澎湃新闻记者表示，他从京东商城购买的iPhone8Plus，打开包装后发现机器爆裂，屏幕被弹开，但未见燃烧痕迹。刘先生介绍，10月3日晚，他从京东商城下单一台64GB的金色版iPhone8Plus；10月4日下午，京东快递员就把iPhone8Plus送到他手上。
