Mozilla 发布了 Firefox 57 的 Beta 版。这个版本对 Mozilla 意义重大，被寄望于能重返光荣之路，以至于还被冠名为 Firefox Quantum。Firefox 57 将于 11 月 14 日正式发布，它将带给用户能感知的性能提升。Mozilla 测试了 Firefox 57 Beta/ Firefox Quantum 和 Chrome，显示  Firefox Quantum 更快。 Firefox Quantum 的改进包括支持利用多个处理器核心，Rust 开发的新 CSS 引擎，新的 UI，Stylo，Quantum Flow，Quantum Compositor，等等。Mozilla 推荐用户下载试用，开发者可以选择下载开发者版本。
