Blow Intel out of the game
Blow Intel out of the game
Intel is now facing:
Meltdown Performance fiasco
Multiple Lawsuits
Zen 2 After a couple of months, while they can't make a release without fixing their hardware first
Ryzen have 4 MORE threads at cheaper price NOW
Intel ME problems popup every couple of weeks
So seriously now AMD
Just get a solid Zen 2 release
And Open source PSP
I am not talking Gaming right now, Sorry gammers
I am talking small cloud vendors, small businesses, programmers, Open source people, Linux users. I realize these may seem a small market, but they can drive HUGE sales and attention. Most of the readers of the /r/linux subreddit would be more than happy to pay MORE for an open source, more secure PSP. and these are ~3X the readers of /r/Amd (2.89X actually) (They are like 3 more AMD subs, combined)
Small cloud vendors & businesses really CARE about security, this is where their LIFE is. And getting at least 200 more eyeballs looking at your code & testing it makes it far more secure. Google Project Zero, and university researchers, -who discovered meltdown- would devote huge amounts of time to harden the code and report bugs. This is there job. Security through obscurity is proven to not work, and Intel ME bugs here to prove that.
Games have proven to not GREATLY benefit from all these threads, but other professional disciplines greatly benefit from them, so that would get us
More number of threads
More Secure architecture
At cheaper price
That would definitely sell far more people into the platform
And frankly I am afraid that Intel could take that BIG move first, and these businesses already have Intel CPUs, so that would make them definitely stick with Intel. The transition to AMD would be far more harder 😞
So Take that move first, and BLOW shintel AWAY
