9月26日，王思聪出席自己发起的“香蕉新导演掘地计划”发布会。会上他指出中国有太多垃圾电影，称“中国导演是有很大问题的”，他希望电影行业更专业，做到“工业化”，同时还举例称有些导演在片场包揽多职，有些导演一部戏拍很多年，“这明显就是一个很不专业的事情”。
