Shibarium Validators Suffer Temporary Networking Issues

Shibarium went offline briefly due to validator network problems. While the core network is back up, some services are still down.

Shiba Inu’s ambitious layer-2 blockchain project, Shibarium, recently encountered a bump in the road. Over the weekend, users experienced a brief outage due to temporary networking issues between the validators on the network. The technical team took immediate steps to address the situation, although some of the services are still down.

Other Services On The Shibarium Validator Remains Down

On April 22, 2024, Kaal, Shiba Inu’s key programmer, announced on X that the platform experienced network congestion during the weekend. According to developer Kaal Dhairya, the issue stemmed from networking problems among Shibarium validators.

Kaal warned that some features might still be down until they can implement important fixes. To speed things up, they’re asking other developers working on Shibarium’s behind-the-scenes tech to contact them.

To fix the “temporary Networking Issues,” Shibarium shut down temporarily and entered a private mode only accessible to the developers. Validators are the backbone of any blockchain network, responsible for verifying transactions and ensuring the network’s integrity.

While the core network is now back online, some services like Shibariumscan or external Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) might still be down. The development team is working to resolve these issues and has urged external teams to improve communication for faster resolution.

This isn’t the first hurdle Shibarium has faced. Shortly after its launch last August, the network encountered a major technical problem that took two weeks to fix. However, since then, Shibarium has remained operational.
