Crypto exchange OKX has collaborated with Manchester City to launch special football shirts that can be converted into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

However, this project, dubbed “Unseen City Shirts,” offers fans of Manchester City, the current champions of English football, the chance to acquire unique collectibles and participate in winning attractive rewards.

Manchester City Unveils First NFT Collection Titled ‘The Roses and the Bees’

On April 22, OKX unveiled a plan to revamp football team jerseys, allowing them to be created as unique digital collectibles or Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) by global fans using the OKX application. These NFTs can be minted by enthusiasts from April 22 to 25.

The digital artwork titled ‘The Roses and the Bees’ by Christian Jeffery is a tribute to Manchester, featuring the city’s renowned symbols, such as the Lancashire Rose and the Manchester Worker Bee, celebrating its storied past. Each piece of this digital art comes with a random rarity level – Classic, Rare, or Ultra Rare. The rarity of these digital tokens determines the exclusivity of the rewards for collectors, which range from special edition physical football jerseys and VIP tickets to Manchester City games and unique experiences playing on the field.

Nuria Tarré, Manchester City’s Chief Marketing and Fan Experience Officer, emphasized the club’s commitment to engaging with a tech-oriented fanbase and pioneering digital ownership by introducing this NFT project. She pointed out the transformative impact of digital ownership in today’s Web3 industry, remarking on how it has reinvented the concept of ownership.
