👋 Hey, Product Hunters! I'm Khanan, the founder of Komodo, and I'm so excited to debut Komodo 2.0 today.

Komodo is the fastest, most reliable, lightest weight way to record your screen or create a training guide.

Komodo has the best features of Loom, Scribe, and Descript at 91% lower cost. Previously you could only use our Chrome Extension to record, but that all changes today.

Now Komodo is available as a standalone desktop app for Mac and Windows. We rebuilt this from the ground up for speed, reliability, and simplicity.

But this is only the beginning. As a small, bootstrapped team, we're able to iterate much quicker than the bigger players in our space.

Here's some ideas we're looking to add into Komodo next:

- AI Generated Guides, Walkthroughs, and SOPs - Komodo CoPilot, An intelligent screen recording assistant - Knolwedge base search on all the recordings in a repository from yourself and your team

@khanan_grauer1 Just curious - 1. Will we be able to build an entire Knowledge Base as well in the future, using Komodo ? 2. Can we use Komodo to host our Mini-online course videos or Tutorials for Agency Clients ?

Hey @kapil_arora09 - In the future we plan to deliver a searchable knowledge repository, yes. Komodo works well in hosting and organizing videos for clients. Page Builder may be useful. We plan to create more intelligent tools to improve the communication between creator <> client and vice versa.

Thanks for your support @alex_dulub -- The intent of Komodo 2.0 is speed and reliability. The recordings are created fast on a back-end optimized for this purpose. AI is used now to provide a summary and action items. Longer term, guides can be created with AI and fed into a knowledge repository where you can find anything that was mentioned in a video through a large library of collaborators. We're moving in the direction of AI enabled at every step of the creation process. More to come! :)
Well isn’t this a coincidence.. just when I was about to record my first course, this comes along, it looks incredible, I’ll check it out for sure! Well done!

I've always used Screen Studio. Komodo looks like a good choice too.

Have you compared them? What are Komodo's advantages?

@bonvisions Screen Studio is wonderful and has great polish to make videos more attractive. (I would say they are better than us in this respect)

We think of Komodo in a different market: Helping people get work done faster, especially when they're remote. Komodo comes with a suite of tools that lets you say build a web page from your video - the intent is to communicate more information such as sharing attachments, form embeds, links and so on. From a productivity standpoint, this is where Komodo shines.
