Windows XP“钉子户”晒帖引发热议：16GB 内存设备运行 32 位 Windows XP 系统
3 月 23 日消息，Reddit 社区的 Windows XP 子版块近日非常热闹，起因是一位网友发帖，表示通过改造在相对“现代”的硬件设备上，继续运行 32 位 Windows XP 系统。
这个相对“现代”的硬件设备为华硕 P8Z68-V PRO 主板、英特尔酷睿 i7 2600K 处理器、AMD Radeon HD 7970 GPU 和 16GB DDR3 内存。
32 位 Windows XP 理论上最多只能识别和处理 4GB 内存，而且由于部分内存空间需要预留给系统硬件、驱动等等，因此实际上可以使用的内存空间不到 4GB。
博主表示通过 PAE 方式，让 32 位 Windows XP 系统也能处理 16GB 内存。而之所以选择 32 位 Windows XP 系统，博主表示：
64 位 Windows XP 系统不兼容同时期的大部分软件，如果你想要玩游戏，32 位 Windows XP 是必须的。
该帖子发布之后，不少依然使用 Windows XP 系统的用户也纷纷晒出了主机的配置：

其 RTM 版于 2001 年 8 月 24 日发布；零售版于 2001 年 10 月 25 日上市。其名字“XP”的意思是英文中的“体验”。
2008 年 6 月 30 日，微软停止 XP 销售，宣布针对 Windows XP 的主要支持至 2009 年 4 月 14 日，延伸支持至 2014 年 4 月 8 日。
2009 年 4 月 14 日，微软停止 Windows XP 的技术支持，包括新的 IE、DirectX、MSN 等微软服务不能在 XP 上使用。
