How Doing CP 💻 and Gym 💪 Are Alike

Hello, Codeforces Community!

Today, I want to share with you some of my thoughts on how competitive programming (CP) is similar to going to the gym. You might think that these two activities have nothing in common, but I beg to differ. Here are some of the ways that CP and gym are alike:

  • Both require regular practice and discipline. You can't expect to become a red coder or a bodybuilder overnight. You have to work hard, follow a schedule, and stick to it. You also have to challenge yourself and push your limits, but not too much that you injure yourself or burn out. Or worse, get banned for cheating or using steroids. 💩
  • Both have different levels and goals. You can't compare yourself to someone who has been doing CP or gym for years and has reached a high level. You have to set realistic and achievable goals for yourself, and measure your progress by your own standards. You also have to choose the right problems or exercises for your level, and gradually increase the difficulty as you improve. And don't forget to update your rating or weight on your profile or social media, so everyone can see how awesome you are. 😎
  • Both involve learning and improving. You can't rely on the same techniques or methods forever. You have to learn new algorithms, data structures, languages, or frameworks for CP, and new workouts, diets, supplements, or equipment for gym. You also have to review your performance, analyze your mistakes, and seek feedback from others. And by others, I mean your coach or mentor, not some random troll on the internet who thinks he knows better than you. 🙄
  • Both are fun and rewarding. You can enjoy the process of solving problems or lifting weights, and feel the satisfaction of getting AcceptedAccepted or breaking a personal record. You can also make friends with other people who share your passion, and participate in contests or competitions to test your skills and win prizes. Or bragging rights, which are sometimes more valuable than prizes. 👍

So, next time you feel like skipping a CP session or a gym session, remember that they are both good for you, and that they have more in common than you think. And who knows, maybe someday you will be able to do both at the same time! Or maybe not, because that would be insane. 😱 Do let me know if you're one of them and HOW?

That's all for today. Thanks for reading, and happy coding! 🚀

This blog may have been a waste of time for you, but hey, at least I have another blog on C++ debug template! here that might be useful. 🙃
