Will ChatGPT replace product managers?

tl;dr, no ChatGPT will not replace PMs, at least not any time sooner, but Jittery will make product manager 10X the product managers they are today!

Will ChatGPT take my Product Managment Job???

Hey ProductHunt

Shaun here, sharing a personal journey. When I first used GPT-4 for product management tasks, the productivity spike was noteworthy, but it brought along an unexpected dilemma - a lingering fear of being replaced.

Every time GPT-4 helped me craft a message or document, I wondered if my value as a PM was diminishing. I found myself asking, "What if my boss realized I'm using GPT-4? Would my perceived value dwindle?" There was this daunting thought that AI, while increasing productivity, might make my role redundant in the near future.

Also, there was an uncanny feeling of inauthenticity. Even though tasks that used to take hours were done in minutes, each piece of communication felt less...me. And in a field where authenticity is key, this was unsettling.

But then, I hit a "F*CK IT!" moment. I realized that AI tools are not here to replace us, but to assist us. They're designed to handle the routine so we can focus on areas where human judgment and creativity are irreplaceable - strategic decision-making, empathizing with users, driving innovation.

That shift in perspective led me to create Jottery.co. The idea was to merge the power of GPT-4 with the unique needs of product management. To build a tool that boosts productivity while preserving our authentic voice.

I've learned that AI is just a tool, and the value I bring as a PM goes beyond writing emails and documents. It's about strategic vision, understanding customer needs, leading teams, and those aspects are far from being replaced by AI.

Just curious, has anyone else grappled with this fear of being replaced by AI tools? How have you dealt with it?

Cheers, Shaun
