Later this year, Apple will announce the much-anticipated iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. As per all the rumors we had recently, the series will come with a boatload of upgrades over the previous iterations. And it’s not like the upcoming phones will only have internal upgrades. There will be external changes too! That might make you wonder what Apple will do with the iPhone 16 series.

Yes, it is too early to speculate what the iPhone 16 lineup will bring. But that does not stop concept designers. A brand-new iPhone 16 Pro concept has emerged, which showcases a camera layout overhaul and an Action button on the body. Of course, it’s just a concept, but the pictures can make you think about whether the future iPhones will really look like it.

iPhone 16 Pro Concept Rethinks the Future Designs

The upcoming iPhone 15 series was about to get a major design change. It was supposed to come with solid-state volume buttons. That would have made the phones look and feel much different from the previous models. But Apple has reportedly scraped that plan and will supposedly work on it for the iPhone 16 series.

So, the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with individual physical keys instead of solid-state volume buttons. That would make the newer phones look pretty identical to iPhone 14 Pro models. Hopefully, things will change with the iPhone 16 Pro models. But it appears that the concept is sticking to a button layout.

Besides that, the iPhone 16 Pro concept sheds light on the Action button. This button is about to make its iPhone debut with the iPhone 15 Pro models. And as you might have guessed, this button will work similarly to the Apple Watch’s Action Button. That is, you can map it to perform a lot of different functions, such as launching an app or Siri.

According to recent leaks, the action button of iPhone 15 Pro models will be above the volume buttons. And it will supposedly feature a similar sizing as the Mute switch. Of course, Apple might change the design and functionality of the button at the last moment. After all, the final word will not be set unless the phones make their world debut.

New Camera Layout?

The iPhone 16 Pro concept’s biggest highlight must be the brand-new camera layout. As showcased by the creator, @ld_vova, the concept phone imagines two pairs of cameras with individual islands. The camera islands are stacked vertically within a circular housing.

The last time Apple made a major change in the camera layout of its phones was with the iPhone 12. And it seems that the concept iPhone 16 Pro is sticking with a camera design that’s very much reminiscent of the iPhone 11. Of course, the camera hardware appears to be beefed up.

As per the iPhone 16 Pro concept images show, there is a wide-angle lens, a wide-angle, a telephoto, and a periscope lens. Here, the periscope lens is the main highlight, as the iPhone 15 Pro models are rumored to come with it.

Other than that, the iPhone 16 Pro concept envisions a different placement of the LiDAR scanner and flash. They appear to be placed diagonally inside the camera plateau. And such placement makes the back of the concept phone have a much more symmetrical look.

Finally, the concept iPhone 16 Pro imagines the device will be available in different color options. Maybe, the designer has taken cues from the rumored color options of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. After all, those two color options could definitely make the iPhone 15 lineup look more vibrant and lively.
