Playback Issue with Book Page in Simulation

Using book pages at start and end of simulation. In playback, end page does not load cleanly. The last displayed simulation screenshot is displayed at the top left of the window (not in normal position or size) while the book page is loaded. The sim screenshot displays long enough to be very noticeable - see attached image. Once the book page has been loaded, going back and then forward again in the sim displays the page nicely, i.e. once the page has been cached, its playback is seamless. Start page also has a "stutter" but as there isn't an already displayed image, it is not as noticeable. The simulation screenshots move through seamlessly - it's just the book pages that seem to lag. I have pared back the end page to be nothing but a blank page but it makes no difference in the time it takes to load. Assuming that this is a rendering issue, any ideas on how to get the end page to load faster and the previous page to not display while it does?
