As a finance expert who spent a decade valuing company shares professionally, I was deeply interested in the wealth generation on social networks: where it came from and who benefitted. Users & creators play the most important role in supporting share price of companies like Facebook (now Meta). Crucially though, 9 out of 10 countries where Facebook is used the most are in the developing world, in Asia or Africa, but majority of share holders that benefit from this wealth creation are in the US.

*Creators these days are like film starts in a move: they are the attraction. They bring people through the door, keep them engaged and create wealth. But creators get little back as all wealth is held by shareholders.

Facebook has created over $450bn of wealth, that's more than the GDP of 150 countries but it is in the hands of a very few shareholders like Mark Zuckerberg. We build a platform that will reclaim some of that wealth and disperse that to users around the world by giving actual shares directly to users as an incentive to switch.

ChatWise was built with this purpose to equalise wealth and power. Me and Abhijit (a software engineer who led technology teams for large banks in London) joined forces and a team of 20+ passionate developers; we raised significant money in two different rounds from investors who simply said "If this happens, it'll be good for the world and I want to be part of that"

How? As founder, I currently own 84% of the company. Majority of these shares are now set aside for new creators and users (we call them ‘ChatWise Builders’) by way of a legal undertaking. In simple words, my shareholding will come down from 84% to 9% by transferring these ordinary founder shares to creators, users from all parts of the world who will join this movement. Our commitment is legally binding and a legal document is being shared on our website to this effect.

We're launching ChatWise Messenger on Product Hunt: it is like Whatsapp - difference being, users take equity stake.

If you see our mission, join us. Become a ChatWise builder, download ChatWise Messenger app, get your shares at this early stage, join our community and possibly the shareholder committee that will determine how future shares are dispersed. All PH users that join on the launch day will receive free 100 shares and a further 200 for inviting 10 friends.
