00:02 On Musk buying Twitter
00:18 On scenario where Musk brings back Jack Dorsey
Video Transcript
CRAIG IRWIN: Twitter really is a boat anchor. It's something he probably wishes he never bought. He probably was a little bit tongue in cheek when he made his original bid public. I think he probably views that as just a freaking boat anchor. And now he's going to go out there and fix it. Best scenario for him is if he could get someone like Jack Dorsey to come back. Jack's got a billion dollars rolled into it in stock, right? If he could persuade him to come back and win back those 80 advertisers that have left, that would be a huge deal for Tesla. It would probably pop the stock 25 to 50 bucks.
The reality, though, is I think that there's enough of a challenge to bring someone like Dick Costolo or Jack Dorsey back. And they'll have to look elsewhere for more credible leadership, given that Musk has said he's going to depart. He's going to go and focus back on SpaceX and Tesla and Neuralink and all the other fun projects he has going on.

Meta advertisers brush off Trump's potential return
Former U.S. President Donald Trump's potential return to Meta Platform's Facebook and Instagram is unlikely to change how advertisers spend money with the world's second-largest digital ad company, ad agency executives said. This is good news for Meta whose stock has halved over the past year amid a slowdown in ad spending as brands cut their marketing budgets in response to historic inflation. In a blog post on Wednesday announcing Trump's reinstatement, Meta said he will face "heightened penalties for repeat offenses."

1 Stock to Own for a Bull Market in 2023
It's nice to think about, isn't it? A bull run in 2023 would be welcomed by investors, especially after the rough 2022 experienced by the stock market. While there's no way to know how 2023 will turn out, it's interesting to consider what companies would benefit most from an up year in the markets.

Iran sanctions Europeans over criticism of protest crackdown
Iran on Wednesday announced sanctions targeting more than 30 European individuals and entities, portraying the move as a response to recent European sanctions against officials linked to a crackdown on nationwide protests. Also targeted are the French intellectual Bernard-Henri Levy and three senior staffers at the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which recently published a series of cartoons lampooning Iran's clerical rulers. The sanctions would bar travel to Iran and allow authorities to block bank accounts and confiscate property in Iran.

I’m still working at 75: Do I need to take RMDs from my 401(k)?
You only have to start taking RMDs by April of the year after you leave that job. If you’re buying company stock through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), subject to vesting and other qualified retirement plan options, it would fall under the same rules as the 401(k) and would not be subject to RMDs until you leave the company. If all this is a surprise to you and you haven’t taken RMDs from necessary accounts yet, now’s the time to fix it—you’ll need to file some forms with the IRS, pay the amount due and ask for forgiveness on the 50% penalty.
