It's been a while since I launched something here. Feels good. :)

Over the last few years we've seen an explosion of interest in starting a fund. At Weekend Fund we've been very open about how we operate, and as a result many people have reached out asking for advice on how to start and manage a fund.

Of course, we're limited by own experience and scaling 1:1 text threads is tough. So, we started Signature Block to crowdsource advice and learnings from experienced GPs. Our goal is to make this the best resource for fund managers (or those that want to learn more about VC).

A few of the more popular posts (so far):

VC fund decks that close LPsShould I start a fund?Top mistakes first-time fund managers make

We just launched the new Signature Block site and have a few fund things launching in the coming weeks. Keen to hear any and all feedback, and would love to know what topics you'd like us to cover in future editions of the newsletter.

@rrhoover @vedika_jain this is super cool. I really think such knowledge hub for micro-funds and solo-gps will be super important!
@rrhoover @vedika_jain I gave it a proper look now. Funny enough, all content there is quite relevant for the founders too! I will definitely be a frequent guest :)
@vedika_jain @kornel_grunwald good point. While it's focused on fund managers and investors, it may be useful for founders to "get inside the head" of investors before starting a fundraise.
@vedika_jain @rrhoover it absolutely is. I was aware of the specific questions investors ask during pitch events, but now it explains the logic behind some from various standpoints. Very useful!

@jamiepeak thanks, Jamie! Blame me for typos or bugs you might find.

We're hoping to cover most of the questions (current and future) fund managers have as we publish more articles. Admittedly, the site looks a little light when diving into individual topic pages until then.

@rrhoover sounds great, excited to see future articles. I'll be following along for sure!

I have said this many times on Twitter and countless times referred Signature Block to my founders/operator friends who want to get into VC - the amount of value and knowledge is just enormous.

Big fan of all the posts Ryan and Vedika created. Must-subscribe IMO 💯

Ryan, Vedika - curious about what other niche topics you want to cover as part of SB in 2023?

@5harath appreciate that. :)

We have a running list of topics we're planning to cover, including:

- How to model a portfolio (we'll include a spreadsheet template) - Tools stack used by fund managers - How to think about follow-on investments and reserves

And many others.

But keen to hear what others would like to see!

@rrhoover I love the tool stack topic - it can turn into a mini-project by curating them(no-code for the rescue)

Do you have any plans to convert SB into a community? Maybe on slack or circle? I’m sure people are going to appreciate connecting with like-minded folks

@5harath we've experimented with a few events. There's clearly an opportunity to do so – many readers have expressed interest in connecting directly with other fund managers – but starting a community is a serious commitment and we would need to ensure it's a high enough priority relative to everything else we're working on.

TL;DR: Maybe someday!

Really nice to see this and you are launchin new products. Great work 🤜
