German energy company, Enbw announced on Thursday that Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio will install swapping stations at 20 charging parks in Germany.
All Nio EV models are compatible with the battery swap station, as the company uses a standardized battery pack with two capacity levels.
In September, Nio opened up its first battery swap station in Germany. By providing consumers with lower prices through battery lease programs and supporting them with an expanded network of EV battery swap stations, Nio expects to capture a larger share of the EV market in Europe.
The automaker is planning to build 1,000 battery swap stations outside of China over the next three years, most of which will be in Europe to support its expansion of EV sales to markets like Germany and beyond.
Nio first overseas factory, which opened in Hungary in September, is producing battery swap stations for the European market.
Nio delivered 14,178 vehicles in November 2022, a new record-high monthly delivery, representing an increase of 30.3% year-over-year. The company said it will further accelerate the production and delivery in December.
