据美国太空网近日报道，加拿大一家初创公司计划于 2025 年前，将一辆可以为探索月球南极阴影坑的机器人供电的 “移动电源车 1 号” 送上月球。这款 “移动电源车 1 号” 重约 30 公斤，将搭载美国 “直觉机器” 公司的 “诺瓦—C” 着陆器，到达月球表面。月球车将在陨石坑内放置一个 “充电立方体”，然后停在陨石坑边缘，并将太阳能电池板展开以对准太阳，电缆会将产生的电力传输到陨石坑内的充电立方体，机器人探测器可以在那里无线连接，并获取它们所需的能量。
