Apple’s privacy claims always emphasizes on one major thing, anonymity. As a company, it has stated on several occasions. That the data of its users are stored in a unique code.

This makes it impossible for anyone to read the personal data of any user. There has been a new report by Mysk claiming that Apple can still see your personal data.

Apple Already Has A Lawsuit On A Similar Issue

Apple

Last week, researchers reported that there are Apple apps that are stealing user data. Even when you restrict them from doing so. Due to this claim, Apple is facing lawsuit for tracking users’ devices.

But it does not look like things will end there. As things get even worse for the American phone maker. This same group of researchers just brought a new accusations against Apple.

According to the claims they claimed to have found a new unique ID in user data of all iPhone users. And this unique ID proves that, stock apps send all information to Apple. So your data might look anonymous. But with unique ID, Apple can be able to determine whose information it is.

According to them, this unique ID identifies each user’s iCloud account. And per the unique ID, Apple can easily know whose account is which. They demonstrated this in a video that they posted on Twitter. Which shows consistent appearance of a unique ID called DSID in the codes.

Apple May Have Broken Its Own Rule

Apple

Apple’s device Analytics in privacy statement states that. Your personal data may be recorded for advertising purposes only. And that all your data is anonymous to the point that no one can see your personal data. But that might not be the case according to the recent research. And this might make Apple’s case even worse.

The research by Mysk can confirm that. It does not matter whether you disable apps from tracking your data or not. The only way you can stop this in actual fact. Is to stop using the app store and its associated apps. Which is impossible as long as you use an Apple device or an iPhone.

Note that stealing of user data is something that almost all manufacturers do. But then, Apple as a company has placed itself as a privacy oriented company. And everyone has trusted the brand for this reason. So many people use Apple devices because of its top-notch privacy and security features. So news like this will definitely go a long way to hurt its business. Especially when it comes with a proof.

The company as a whole has not yet responded to these accusation. But we keep following the story to see the outcome of it. Whatever happens will always update you.
