北京时间2022年11月18日13时30分，在印度斯里赫里戈达岛，印度的第一枚商业火箭发射升空，堪称历史性一刻，但并未取得完全成功。
这枚商业火箭来自印度天根宇航公司(Skyroot Aerospace Private Limited)，2018年6月创立，员工约200人，是印度最大的私人太空创业公司，曾两次获得印度国家奖项，迄今已筹资5.26亿美元。
火箭名为Vikram-S，以印度太空计划之父Vikram Sarabhai命名， 属于单级固体燃料亚轨道，历时两年研发，采用了碳复合结构、3D打印组件等技术，采用自旋和气动稳定方式。
火箭高8米，直径37.6厘米，峰值真空推力7吨，可将83公斤载荷送入100公里高度。
