10月24日，据科技日报消息， 奥地利科学家近日研制出一种新型铝合金，其抗辐射能力是目前应用于航天器的6061铝合金的100倍。
铝合金由于其轻质又坚固的特性经常被用于太空探索领域，但是它们长时间暴露于太阳或银河系射线的强辐射下时，分子结构会发生变化，变得更加脆弱。
2019年，莱奥本大学斯特凡·博尕特斯切及其同事通过将铝和镁合金与锌、铜混合。
随后在极高压力下将其压碎后制成，其结构原子紧密堆积，但是受到高强度辐射后，会变得易碎。
